Saturday night the California Institute of Technology's men's basketball team won a game for the first time since Nov. 22, 2004.

The NCAA Division III Beavers (1-11) were able to dismantle Bard 81-52. The win snapped a 59-game losing streak and a 207-game losing streak to fellow Division III schools, a streak that began in 1996.

Now the Beavers will focus their attention on breaking another streak. They have lost 245 consecutive conference games. Caltech will carry a one-game winning streak into its conference opener Jan. 10 at Occidental (7-3).

Prior to the Beavers big win, the team was losing by an average of 36 points per game. Thier last victory was against Life Pacific.
