8:46 p.m. - Fred Campbell commits his first foul, the Bears sixth team foul and the Bears are trailing 20-12. Damon Harris just hit a 3, now it's 23-12.

8:47 p.m. - Joey Cortez lost control of the ball... there was a scrum just in front of our table here. The Bears have nine turnovers already with 5:20 left in the game. Oh and their shooting 20 percent from the field. Yikes.

8:49 p.m. - Darryl Jones just broke a four-minute scoring drought with two free throws. 23-14.

8:50 p.m. - Campbell just hit a 40-foot 3-pointer that was an attempted lob pass... this is the second lob pass in two games that went in the basket.

8:54 p.m. - OBU's Lucky Butler just jumped out of bounds and called a timeout. I hate that rule, by the way.

8:58 p.m. - Halftime here at the Farris Center, the Bears trail 25-21. And the dance team is getting ready to perform. They're sporting some interesting outfits: big, baggy pants rolled up to the knees and small jackets that only come half way down the torso and have "Da Bears" embroidered on the back. I believe they are breaking us off with some routines they're going to display at their first ever national competition next week. And I tell you what, in my four years here at UCA there is a definite marked improvement in the quality of dance on the dance team.

9:02 p.m. - Now we've got some little kids basketball happening and the black team is already off to a better start than the Bears, hitting its first shot.

9:07 p.m. - As the pee-wee action winds down here are some interesting half-time numbers for you. The Bears are shooting 19.2 percent from he field, that's 5-for-26 shooting, but trail by only four. Jones is leading the Bears with six points, all from the free throw line. Despite the Bears' struggles from the field they are hitting 80 percent of their free throws so far. That and the Tigers own woeful shooting at 38.5 percent is keeping this one close.

9:13 p.m. - Some GSC men's half-time scores: Tech 29, SAU 21; Delta 43, Harding 32; and one final UAM 74, Henderson 65. We're back underway at the Farris Center.

9:18 p.m. - Well the Bears are shooting a little better... Fernando Johnson hit the first four points of the half to tie the game, then Joey Cortez contributed a 3-point play. The Bears are now shooting 27.3 percent. OBU tied the game with a three-pointer before the last timeout.

9:24 p.m. - Play's getting kinda sloppy here, 6 fouls in the last couple minutes. Brandon Dawson just gave OBU the lead 32-30. Stephin Booth has now just tied the game with a putback off a miss, he was fouled and hit the free throw to give the Bears a one-point advantage.

9:30 p.m. - OBU just called another one of those timeouts I don't like. I just hate that you can call a timeout while diving out of bounds... it's just too easy. A receiver in football can't get a timeout just before he's tackled coming across the middle. It's 37-33 OBU, by the way.

9:39 p.m. - Shooting is better so far in the second half... OBU is up to 43.6 percent, UCA is up to 28.9.

9:41 p.m. - LeMar Phillips has found his stroke from the 3-point line and just hit one to make it a one-point game. OBU 44-43.

9:49 p.m. - Jones hit a 3-pointer just a minute ago to cut the OBU lead back to one, 53-52. And tonight must be the night for mis-thrown lob passes, as an OBU player just threw one way over his guy's head and straight to Booth.

9:54 p.m. - Phillips just gave the Bears the lead, 55-54, with 1:10 left. He's having a nice night with 15 points and 7 boards. As Coach Chappell mentioned after Thursday's game at Christian Brothers, Phillips is an energetic cat.

9:56 p.m. - OBU leading scorer Lucky Butler just drove to the basket unimpaired to get the lead back for the Tigers. But now Phillips gave the Bears the lead back with a couple free throws. There are just 47 seconds left, this one is going to have an exciting finish.

10:01 p.m. - The Bears are clinging to a 57-56 lead with just 17.3 left in the game. OBU just fouled Phillips, so he's got a chance to push the lead to three here.

10:02 p.m. - Phillips hit 'em both. Jaranimo Marks hit a 10-foot jumper to make it 59-58 UCA, now Darryl Jones is at the line.

10:04 p.m. - Jones hit 'em both, timeout OBU. 61-58 UCA with 8.4 ticks left.

10:05 p.m. - Butler's long 3 attempt missed and the Bears walk away with the 3-point win.
