New Look

Well, for like the third time in just a few months I've decided to change the look of the Web site once again.

You've got to keep things fresh for people to keep coming back. Can't have the Internets full of Web sites that all look the same. Not that the new look makes this site look different than a ton of other blog-based sites around the Internet, but it's different than anything we've ever done before.

I think the sophisticated look is a nice contrast to most of our posts. We suck people in with our clean look and then confuse them with posts about inflatable penguins, football and making fun of Dale Earnhardt.

With the new look brings more time for me to sit around and post things. I'm not completely done with the new look, but all of the hard work is done.

And as long as my car doesn't decide to die forcing me to spend a week looking and purchasing a new one, I'll have a little free time to share my thoughts about sports and pop culture again very soon.

So, with the new stuff, I've also brought back old features which I inadvertently took away before and was too lazy to put them back. Mainly, comments. I enjoy letting readers comment, but in one of the updates I left out all the comment code, then never had the time or energy to put it back in. That is, until a few minutes ago.

All you've got to do is scroll to the end of the post and the form for posting comments has magically reappeared. It's fully functional too, although the "Thank you for posting" screen is still old school. That'll be fixed when I get around to it.

I'll also add a link next to the "More" link so that you can jump right into reading the comments.

I've also brought the calendar back, but just on the individual blogs, not on the front page. I never could quite get it to work right on the front, but it's always worked on the individual blogs. All the archives are good and updated now too. You won't click on a month of Josh's stuff and get the old Echo Sports colors anymore.

Those links above the "YouTube Of The Week" will be up and running soon. I figure people miss the old Echo Sports day, and had I not jacked up some stuff way back in July, that page would already be back up, but that's a work in progress. Also, we're going to open a new store with different merchandise than we had the last time, so look forward to that.

Oh, and on the YouTube of The Week, feel free to send me YouTube links that you like. I have a hard time picking out something I think everyone would enjoy. So, if you think you've got it and I approve of it, I'll post it right up in the YTOTW.

Suggest some Athletes of the Week, too, if you want. But, please note that it's a satirical thing, we're not going to put great athletes that actually accomplish something in that section.

Alright. That's all the updating I have for now, just thought I'd fill everyone in.
